Based on the wonderful work of Simms Taback, Karen conceived and designed this very successful KIDS wallpaper and fabric collection for

F. Schumacher & Co. She also designed the book itself and was responsible for the photography. This collection was written up by the New York

Times (http://www.nytimes.com/1989/11/23/garden/currents-for-walls-childhood-whimsy.html).

 

 

 

Karen created this new design concept for a follow up collection to Classmates,

along with the logo for an extensive KIDS program of clothing, bedding, toys, fabrics and wallpaper.

 

 

As Graphics Design Director for Gear Design in New York, Karen designed and styled

many photoshoots for all the collections of wallpaper and fabrics being created by this

very successful and prolific studio.

Karen designed this set for Nicki Wilson’s Castle Hill Theatre

production of a dramatic adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s Just

So Stories. One of the goals was to camouflage the giraffe and the

zebra. (Can you find them?) The play is an out of the box

production and was performed at venues such as the Eric Carle

Museum of Picture Book Art (http://www.carlemuseum.org/),

MASSMoCA (http://www.massmoca.org/) and the Berkshire Museum

(http://www.berkshiremuseum.org/).

Motifs designed for Interprint, a Berkshire based company that

produces home furnishings materials.
